Advice for parents of small children.

Guard thyself. Late winter can bring many challenges to our small practice. Typically, flu season is winding down but the nasty virus known as RSV enjoys spreading the love. A simple cold with excessive nasal congestion may be the first sign. It can be especially challenging for smaller children (less than 2 yr). Early identification is imperative for both diagnosis and the prevention of spread. We encourage all those diagnosed with RSV to “stay in.” Avoid daycare and Church nurseries for one week after diagnosis. Call early if you have concerns.
The march toward Spring is welcome. Warm weather shifts our practice into a more preventative mode. Kindergarten and sports physicals will replace many of the sick visits. We love healthy kids. Call now for those appointments.
